Maryam Asenuga

Maryam Asenuga is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She practices in the firm’s Litigation Department.

Maryam earned her Juris Doctor in 2023 from Columbia Law School where she was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a Tony Patiño Fellow. In addition to serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Columbia Journal of Race and Law, she has represented individuals facing misdemeanor charges in New York City courts through the Columbia Law Criminal Defense Clinic. She also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable George B. Daniels, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, president of the Criminal Justice Action Network, and the Academics and Clerkship Chair of Empowering Women of Color. Additionally, she served as a Teaching Assistant for Professor Benjamin L. Liebman in Torts.

Before attending law school, Maryam graduated cum laude from Duke University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Public Policy and minor in Arabic.

Maryam is admitted to practice in the State of California. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
