Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s Los Angeles office was founded in 1890 and is the original office of Gibson Dunn. The firm was founded at the behest of a client who wanted a “full-service” law firm. Called an “experiment” by the local press, Gibson Dunn became the largest law firm in Los Angeles when the lawyers of Bicknell, Trask and Gibson merged with the practice of former Los Angeles City Attorney William Dunn and former Assistant City Attorney Albert Crutcher.
Today most of our practice areas are represented in the Los Angeles office, including litigation, corporate, real estate, labor and employment, business restructuring and reorganization, environmental, and tax.
