Washington, D.C. partner Roscoe Jones, Jr. and New York of counsels Karin Portlock and Brendan Stewart were named to The National Black Lawyers Top 100 Black Lawyers 2023, a list of “influential lawyers who have a reputation for providing excellent legal representation and who are leaders in their respective practice areas.” The National Black Lawyers is “an organization dedicated to recognizing and highlighting African American legal excellence.” The selections were announced in November 2022.
Roscoe Jones, Jr. is Co-Chair of the firm’s Public Policy Practice Group. He has almost a decade of Capitol Hill experience advising three U.S. Senators and a member of Congress and political experience in the executive branch. Drawing upon that experience, his practice focuses on promoting and protecting clients’ interests before the U.S. Congress and the Administration, including providing a range of public policy services to clients such as strategic counseling, advocacy, coalition building, political intelligence gathering, substantive policy expertise, legislative drafting, and message development.
Karin Portlock has a broad-based government enforcement and investigations practice, focusing on the full spectrum of internal corporate investigations, including highly sensitive workplace investigations and independent inquiries, as well as regulatory enforcement matters and criminal defense. She is a member of the White Collar Defense and Investigations, Labor and Employment, Crisis Management, and Litigation practice groups.
Brendan Stewart is a member of the White Collar Defense and Investigations, FDA and Health Care, False Claims Act/Qui Tam Defense, and Litigation Practice Groups. As a former federal prosecutor, his practice focuses on health care enforcement, compliance, and litigation as well as other white collar enforcement matters and related litigation.
