Samantha P. Yi

Associate Attorney

Samantha Yi is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.

She joined Gibson Dunn after serving as Associate Staff Secretary for President Biden from 2022-2023. As Associate Staff Secretary, she oversaw the production of various Presidential publications (such as Executive Orders, Proclamations, and Memoranda) and internal briefing memos to the President.

Samantha earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where she was awarded the Flora S. and Jacob L. Newman Prize and the Administrative Law Prize. During law school, Samantha served as the Articles Editor on the N.Y.U. Journal for Legislation and Public Policy. She worked as a clinical law intern in the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Samantha also interned for then Chief Judge of the Southern District of New York Colleen McMahon.

Samantha received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2015 from Northwestern University, where she graduated with a major in Social Policy. Prior to attending law school, Samantha served on the business development team of an education tech startup, following several years working at education non-profits.

Samantha is admitted to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
