Mike M. Ulmer

Associate Attorney

Mike Ulmer is an associate in the Denver office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and practices in the firm’s Litigation Department. Prior to joining the firm, Mike served as a law clerk for the Honorable Allison H. Eid of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Mike received his J.D. from Stanford Law School. While there, he coached the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team, received the Gerald Gunther Prize for Legal Research & Writing, and received the Judge Thelton E. Henderson Prize for his clinical work in the Youth and Education Law Project. Mike also received his M.A. in Instruction from Central Michigan University and his B.S. in Mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he commanded a battalion of midshipmen and was awarded the General Charles C. Krulak Award and the Kauffman Leadership Award.

Prior to law school, Mike was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his service, he deployed twice, received Navy & Marine Corps Achievement and Commendation medals, and was named the Intelligence and Tactics Instructor of the Year in 2015 for his work with a Marine Corps training institution. He continues to serve as a Major in the Marine Corps Reserves.

Mike is admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
