Marcus Tan

Marcus Tan is an of counsel in the Singapore office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He is a member of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets Practice Groups. 

Marcus advises on private and public cross-border mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, joint ventures and investments. He also advises clients on corporate reorganizations, private and public fundraising transactions and advises SGX-ST listed companies on their continuing listing obligations.

He has advised on cross-border transactions across the Southeast Asian region and on notable transactions including the sale by Uber of its Southeast Asian ride-hailing and food-delivery businesses to Grab, the US$1 billion investment by Toyota Motor Corporation in Grab, and the simultaneous privatizations of two related SGX-ST listed companies by their listed parent through separate but inter-conditional schemes of arrangement. He recently advised Asianet Media Teknologi (an I Squared Capital portfolio company) on its acquisition of MNC Play’s fibre network assets across Indonesia.

Marcus is recommended as a key lawyer in Corporate and M&A for Singapore by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.

Marcus received his Bachelor of Laws from King's College London in 2005.  He is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
