Meghan Sherley

Associate Attorney

Meghan Sherley is an associate in Gibson Dunn’s Orange County office, where she is a member of the firm’s Securities Regulation and Corporate Governance Practice Group. 

Meghan advises public companies in a variety of industries on ESG, compliance, and general corporate law matters. Her practice includes assisting clients with annual shareholder meetings (including the Rule 14a-8 shareholder proposal process, director and officer questionnaires, and drafting proxy statement disclosure in compliance with stock exchange, proxy advisory firm, and investor policies), financial reporting and compliance, and ESG and sustainability reporting. She writes and presents on these topics, including on trends and developments in human capital management disclosures.

Meghan’s pro bono engagements include advising nonprofit entities and small businesses on a variety of compliance, governance, and transactional matters.

Meghan earned her law degree, summa cum laude, in 2020 from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she served as Articles Research Editor for the San Diego Law Review and as Research Assistant to Professor Mark Lee. While in law school, she served as judicial extern to the Honorable Patricia D. Benke at the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One. Meghan graduated cum laude from Long Beach State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a Minor in Economics.

Meghan is admitted to practice in the State of California and is a member of the Society for Corporate Governance.
