Sophie Rohnke is Of Counsel in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.

Sophie’s practice focuses on defending clients facing regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, including by the DOJ, SEC, CFTC, FTC, and State Attorneys General, with a particular focus on clients in the technology and internet industries. Sophie also has deep expertise in conducting fast-paced, high-stakes internal investigations. In addition to her investigations expertise, Sophie has extensive experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including class actions.

Representative Matters:

  • Represented top social networking company in two nonpublic state Attorneys General investigations related to content moderation that resulted in no action.
  • Represented leading fintech company in litigation brought by Federal Trade Commission alleging deceptive and unfair practices.
  • Conducted internal investigation for international technology company regarding whistleblower allegations of financial improprieties by corporate officers.
  • Conducted internal investigation for the special committee to the board of a listed company regarding whistleblower allegations of misconduct by the company’s CEO, ultimately resulting in the CEO’s resignation.
  • Defend multinational corporation in nationwide class action alleging violations of the Commodity Exchange Act and federal antitrust laws.
  • Represented Keurig Dr Pepper as plaintiff in a breach-of-contract dispute against the manufacturer of Bodyarmor sports drink, including briefing of a successful motion for partial summary judgment on liability.
  • Represented a global financial institution in connection with government investigations of AML violations and related issues.

Sophie holds a B.A. in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford and an LL.M. from Harvard Law.  Sophie is admitted in the State of Texas, the State of New York, the United States District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as England & Wales.
