Cody M. Poplin

Associate Attorney

Cody Poplin is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He practices in the firm’s Litigation Department.

Cody is a graduate of Yale Law School, where he was an Executive Editor of the Yale Law Journal and a teaching fellow in constitutional law. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina with degrees in Political Science and Peace, War, and Defense, and was awarded the Russell S. Cowell, Jr. prize for achieving the most distinguished academic record in his department. After college, Cody completed a Luce Fellowship in India and a Scoville Fellowship in Washington, D.C., and worked as an analyst at the Brookings Institution as well as the managing editor of Lawfare.

Before joining Gibson Dunn, he clerked for Judge Raymond W. Gruender of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and for Judge Dabney L. Friedrich of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Cody is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and the State of New York.
