Jessica M. Pearigen

Associate Attorney

Jessica M. Pearigen is an associate attorney in the Orange County office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.  She is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.

Jessica’s practice focuses on class actions and other complex civil litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. She has experience in a wide variety of matters including employment litigation and counseling, consumer litigation, environmental litigation and counseling, and products liability litigation. She has drafted merits and amicus briefs in many state courts, federal district courts throughout the country, multiple federal appeals courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Jessica also maintains an active pro bono practice, including securing from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit a new jury trial on a grandmother’s excessive force claim under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, and obtaining a remand from the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for further hearing in a Honduran refugee’s immigration case.

Jessica joined the firm after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Rhesa H. Barksdale of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Jessica earned her law degree cum laude in 2017 from Duke University School of Law, where she was as Editor in Chief of Law & Contemporary Problems. While in law school, she also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Nita L. Stormes of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of California.  She also served as a Teaching Assistant for Distinctive Aspects of U.S. Law, and as a Research Assistant to Professor Ernest Young. Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Philosophy, Politics & Law, and Spanish from the University of Southern California.

Jessica is a member of the California bar and is admitted to practice before the Northern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California, as well as the Fifth Circuit.
