BIOGRAPHY

Ashbey Morgan is an associate in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s Dallas office. She currently practices in the Litigation, Life Sciences, and Intellectual Property Practice Groups.

Ashbey is recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Litigation-Intellectual Property.

Prior to joining the firm, Ashbey served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Rodney Gilstrap of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. During her clerkship, she assisted with the management of both patent and non-patent cases, including federal civil rights, civil asset forfeiture, trademark, insurance, and tax. She also worked on numerous judicial proceedings, including eight civil jury trials, one bench trial, and five Markman hearings.

Prior to clerking, she was an associate at McKool Smith, where her practice focused on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation.

Ashbey earned her law degree summa cum laude from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where she graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, she was a judicial extern for Judge Jane Boyle of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and served as an article editor for SMU Law Review. Ashbey received her chemistry degree cum laude from Rollins College, where she focused her studies on organic chemistry.

Ashbey is admitted to practice in the State of Texas, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Federal Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas.
