Shannon McAvoy is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.  She currently practices in the firm’s Corporate Department.

Ms. McAvoy earned her law degree in 2022 from UC Berkeley School of Law, where she graduated with Pro Bono Honors with Highest Distinction and was elected to the Order of the Coif.  While in law school, she served as a reviewing editor for the Berkeley Business Law Journal and on the publishing committee for the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law.  She received the American Jurisprudence Award in Negotiations as well as Drafting and Negotiating Sports Law Contracts, and the Prosser Prize in Constitutional Law and Being General Counsel.

Ms. McAvoy graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Diego in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, having double majored in Communication Studies and Music, with a minor in Environmental Studies.  She received departmental awards for both majors.

Ms. McAvoy is admitted to practice in the State of California.
