Romain Marchand

Associate Attorney

Romain Marchand is an associate in the Paris office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where he serves as a member of the firm’s Projects and Infrastructure practice group.

Romain specializes in the infrastructure, energy transition, mobility, telecommunication, mining, and energy (including renewables) sectors. He has significant experience advising sponsors, investors (including investment funds), lenders, multilateral institutions and contractors on all aspects of their projects in France and internationally (i.e. structuring, development, contractual arrangements, financing/refinancing and M&A).

Romain has notably been involved in numerous transactions in the energy transition sector (energy, electrification, new molecules) where he developed innovative and sophisticated solutions tailored to these projects.

Romain is also vice-president of Infravenir, a well-established association based in Paris dedicated to young professionals in the infrastructure sector.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, he practiced with a magic circle firm for eight years.

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2015, Romain received a master’s degree in International Business Law in 2011 from University of Rennes and graduated from ESCP Europe with a master’s degree in Law and Corporate Finance in 2014.

He speaks French and English fluently.
