Kunal Kanodia is an associate in the San Francisco office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He currently practices in the firm’s Litigation Department, where he focuses on Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation and White Collar Defense and Investigations matters. He represents clients in a variety of data privacy, cybersecurity and consumer protection matters in the context of program and product development, compliance strategies, regulatory investigations and enforcement. Mr. Kanodia also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on civil rights, immigration and asylum related proceedings and advising non-profits on their privacy programs and policies.
Mr. Kanodia earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2020. While in law school, he served as President of the South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA) and was an active member of Lambda. He also served as Associate Editor of the University of Pennsylvania East Asian Law Review. Prior to his legal studies, he earned his B.A., cum laude, in Human Rights from Columbia University in 2017 where he was awarded the Undergraduate Human Rights Prize and elected Columbia College Class Senior Marshall. He is a native speaker of Hindi.
Mr. Kanodia is admitted to practice law in California, New York and Texas. He serves on the San Francisco Office Diversity Committee and, outside the firm, on the board of the AIDS Legal Referral Panel (ALRP), a nonprofit dedicated to providing free and low-cost legal services to people with HIV/AIDS.
