Nick Hay is a registered foreign lawyer (NSW) in Hong Kong and is an associate.

Nick is a member of the Technology Transactions and Strategic Sourcing and Commercial Transactions practice groups and has been recognized as a recommended lawyer for TMT by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. He has worked across the region on tech, data, and IP-driven corporate and commercial transactions, with a particular focus on the IT, telecommunications and FMCG sectors.

Nick regularly advises clients on sophisticated, large-scale technology procurement, outsourcing and digital transformation projects, as well as the operational components of digital infrastructure transactions, including data center carve outs, tower sale and leaseback deals and subsea cable system builds. He has experience advising on the integration, separation and transitional aspects of M&A transactions, in addition to manufacturing and supply arrangements and other complex commercial arrangements across a range of industries. Nick also provides product counselling for compliance with regional data protection laws and assists clients with cyber risk management, advising on both administrative controls and cyber incident responses.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Nick trained and practiced in the Sydney office of a major international law firm. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017 with a Bachelor of International and Global Studies (Government/International Relations) and a Bachelor of Laws, and is admitted to practice in NSW.
