Salah Hawkins

Salah Hawkins is a litigation associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He is a member of the Firm’s Litigation; Labor and Employment; Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation; and Media, Entertainment and Technology Practice Groups.

His practice focuses on a broad-range of high-stakes litigation matters in both federal and state courts.  He has experience managing and litigating cases involving media and entertainment, technology, antitrust, class action, mass torts, regulation of public utilities, workplace safety, bankruptcy, sensitive internal and governmental investigations and contract disputes. Across a broad-range of sectors, Salah has experience advising clients, including high-level executives and boards of directors, on litigation and investigation strategy and has experience negotiating settlements of complex cases.

From 2015 to 2016, Salah was a law clerk for the Honorable Johnnie B. Rawlinson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and from 2016-2017 was a law clerk to the Honorable Margo K. Brodie of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

He received his Juris Doctor in 2015 from University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Fellowship Scholar and research assistant for Professor Eleanor Swift, contributing author to the leading treatise on evidence in federal courts. At Berkeley Law, Salah won an American Jurisprudence Award for earning the highest grade in his Civil Trial Practice class, was named an Outstanding Attorney in the 2012 Bales Mock Trial Competition and won a national championship in the American Bar Association’s 2015 Mock Trial Competition. He received a dual Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Widener University in 2010.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Salah practiced in the New York office of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.

He is admitted to practice in the State of New York as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
