Mary Aline Fertin

Associate Attorney

Mary Aline Fertin is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she practices in the firm’s Litigation Department.

Mary Aline earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, and her Masters of Law in International and Comparative Law, cum laude, from Duke University School of Law in 2023. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University in 2019.

In law school, she served as Notes Editor on the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law, and represented Duke University in the 2023 Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Mary Aline worked as a Student Attorney and Teaching Assistant for the Duke First Amendment Clinic, and as a Teaching Assistant in Appellate Practice. She was a graduate leader in an interdisciplinary research seminar on trauma informed approaches to juvenile criminal justice, where she supervised undergraduate and graduate research teams.

She previously served as a paralegal in the Consumer Protection Division of the Federal Trade Commission.

She is a native speaker of English and French. Mary Aline is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
