Iman Charania is an associate in the Palo Alto office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Her practice focuses on law and technology, frequently on issues related to the quickly changing privacy, cybersecurity, and consumer protection legal landscapes. She advises on these issues with an emphasis on program and product development, compliance strategies, regulatory investigations, and enforcements. Iman also maintains an active pro bono practice, including successfully petitioning the Court to publish caselaw helpful to survivors of domestic violence to create precedent on these topics, and advising nonprofits on privacy programs and policies.
Iman earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2020. At NYU, she served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy and as a research assistant for the Institute of Policy Integrity. As a clinical student, Iman also participated in the filing of an amicus brief in the case Oracle v. Google on behalf of the Mozilla Corporation and other similarly situated technology companies. Prior to law school, Iman graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Political Science.
