Jeffrey A. Chapman maintains an active M&A practice representing private equity firms and public and private companies in diverse cross-border and domestic transactions in a broad range of industries.
Mr. Chapman is consistently regarded as one of the top M&A lawyers in the country. Recognized for many years by Chambers USA in its “Band 1” category as one of a handful of the leading corporate lawyers in Texas, Chambers USA singled out Mr. Chapman in 2013 as a “Star Individual.” Mr. Chapman remains the only corporate lawyer in Texas history ever to be so designated. Mr. Chapman has long maintained a deep commitment to community service. He is the Chairman Emeritus of the President’s Advisory Board of UT Southwestern Medical Center and a director of the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business Advisory Council, the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Foundation of the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum.
Mr. Chapman received his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1983. In 2014, Mr. Chapman returned to Cambridge as the Harvard Law School Traphagen Distinguished Alumni Speaker.
Mr. Chapman holds a degree in economics from the University of Iowa, where he graduated with highest distinction in 1979. Iowa selected Mr. Chapman as the recipient of its 2020 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award.
