Youjung Byon is an of counsel in Hong Kong. She is a member of the firm’s Investment Funds Practice Group.

Youjung focuses on advising Asia-based private fund sponsors on the formation of private investment funds, including buyout funds, growth capital funds, debt funds, venture capital funds and real estate funds. She also advises founders on governance and economics matters. In addition to fund formation, Youjung also advises fund sponsors on co-investment transactions as well as regulatory and other operational issues.

She is recognized as a Rising Star by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. In the 2022 guide, a client was quoted saying she is “Highly intelligent and hardworking.”

Prior to joining the firm, Youjung was a counsel in the Hong Kong office of Weil Gotshal. She graduated in 2008 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and is admitted to practice in New York and Hong Kong. She is fluent in Korean.
