Michael Andrews

Associate Attorney

Michael Andrews is a corporate attorney in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. His practice focuses on complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, growth and venture investments, spin-offs, exits, and general corporate matters, with a specific emphasis on the technology industry.

Previously, Michael served as Associate General Counsel of ECI Software Solutions, a leading provider of industry-specific business software solutions and services, where he advised the company on all aspects of its business, including mergers and acquisitions, international transactions, third-party commercial transactions, and technology licensing and deployment. Prior to joining ECI, he was a corporate attorney in the Dallas office of Vinson & Elkins.

Michael earned his law degree summa cum laude and as Valedictorian from the SMU Dedman School of Law, where he served as an Associate Texas Survey Editor on the SMU Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif and the SMU Barristers. He graduated with Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Dallas Baptist University.

Michael is a member of the Texas Bar and admitted to practice in the State of Texas.

  • Counsel to ECI Software Solutions in multiple acquisitions of SaaS software and other technology providers
  • Counsel to a major retail company in its acquisition of a technology-driven, on-demand delivery provider*
  • Counsel to a provider of enterprise identity governance software solutions in its $240 million initial public offering and $400 million and $446 million secondary public offerings, and in technology licensing transactions*
  • Counsel to an alternative asset management company in its strategic collaboration with and licensing of technology from a healthcare data analytics provider*
  • Counsel to a provider of enterprise business intelligence and internet of things services and solutions in a joint venture partnership and the licensing of its proprietary software for development of integrated digital experience offerings for the internet of things*
